China to launch space lab in September
Almaty. July 11. Silkroadnews – China will launch its orbiting space lab into space in September, Xinhua news agency reported.
“Chinese orbiting space lab “Tiangong-2” which may enable two astronauts to live in space for up to 30 days was delivered to Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on July 9,” the agency said.
As reported, the lab was sent from Beijing by railway and on Saturday reached the launch center where the assembling and adjustment works will be carried out. The launch of the lab is scheduled for mid-September of this year.
Major tasks of “Tiangong-2” will be to receive manned and cargo spaceships, serve as a testing place for systems and processes for mid-term space stays and refueling in space, as well as carrying out a number of scientific and practical experiments.
