China to lead the movie box office by 2020

Almaty. August 31. Silkroadnews – China is expected to become the leader in the film market by 2020, Russian information agency Regnum reported.
“China’s box office sales will reach 55 billion yuan (8.36 billion U.S. dollars) in 2017 and the Chinese film market is expected to be the world's largest by 2020”, report said.  
According to information of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China (SAPPRFT), the growth of the number of cinemas creates the foundation for the booming the market. China has already surpassed North America with its more than 44.4 thousand screens, including 38.3 thousand – in 3D format.
Chinese domestic films about revolutionary events, the people’s desire for happiness, etc. attract both domestic and foreign audiences.
It is reported that the Chinese films reached 49.3 billion yuan in tickets sold in 2016, including 3.8 billion yuan in overseas markets.
The publication says, China’s “Wolf Warrior II” has gained wide popularity both at home and in overseas markets with box office results exceeding $800 billion, which not every Hollywood blockbuster can be proud of. Hollywood showed its interest on the movie’s film crew.
