China to produce biggest amphibian plane in the world

Almaty. July 25. Silkroadnews - China has demonstrated the sample of the biggest amphibian plane in the world, reports the Russian service BBC.
AG600 is able to take off and land on a usual aerodrome and on the water surface. According to the Chinese corporation of aviation industry AVIC, its maximum takeoff mass is 53.5 tons, the maximum flying range- 4500 km. In size AG 600 is comparable with Boeing 737, today it is the biggest amphibian plane in the world.
The plane was demonstrated at the ceremony in Guandgdong province, south of China.
The Chinese engineers said the plane will be used for fire fighting operations in the forests, rescue works on the water, delivery of freights to the islands in the South-Chinese Sea.
