China to raise share of natural gas and non-fossil energy sources in energy consumption
Almaty. June 30. Silkroadnews – China strains after strategic restructuring of energy consumption, with a focus on expansion of use of natural gas, non-fossil energy and other clean energy sources, said Vice Premier of the State Council of China Zhang Gaoli.
According to the Chinese media, in Beijing, at the opening of the G20-2016 Energy Ministerial meeting, Zhang Gaoli said the modern world is undergoing a new round of energy revolution characterized by expansion of low-carbon energy sources and consumption, intellectualization of the development and utilization of energy resources using Internet technology, and increasing access to energy development achievements.
Against this background, as the Vice Premier noted, China increases one’s pace to establish a modern energy system, scientifically and rationally developing thermal power, oil and gas resources, nuclear power, hydropower and renewable energy types. At the same time the country strengthens control over energy costs at production, intensifies innovation in field of energy and work out to create a better energy system market.
Zhang Gaoli called the G20 member states to intensify exchange of experience in energy development, improve the overall availability of innovative achievements in the field of energy technologies, strengthen cooperation in the energy production and energy infrastructure development, as well as coordinate efforts in global energy management.
The meeting was attended by officials from 27 countries and international organizations involved. The meeting was timed to coincide with the September G20 summit to be held in Hangzhou.
