China to strengthen cooperation in science and technology with the countries throughout «One Belt, One Road» route

Almaty. October 4. Silkroadnews – Chinese government has prepared plan for science and technology cooperation with the countries covered by the initiative of building the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road («One Belt, One Road»), Chinese media reported.

In particular, plan provides for China to establish in cooperation with the countries along «One Belt, One Road» the joint laboratories, research centers, technology transfer centers and science and technology parks working over the next 3-5 years.

Besides, within this program implementation, the Chinese government plans to invite to the country more than 150 thousand employees of scientific and technical sector from the states involved to carry out exchanges and participation in training courses and involve more than 5 thousand young scientists from abroad in the same time period.

Also, the Chinese government intends to develop plans for cooperation with the major countries covered by the initiative of «One Belt, One Road» and sign memorandums and agreements.

According to the medium-term objectives noted in the document, within next 10 years China will expand cooperation in science and technology with neighboring countries in the wider region, based on the platform of cooperation and major projects.
