China urged India to expand cooperation in investment, trade and tourism sectors

Almaty. May 27. Silkroadnews – In Beijing Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, Xinhua news agency reported.

Two leaders agreed to make joint efforts to intensify the bilateral all-round cooperation, bring the China-India strategic cooperative partnership to a new level, stimulate co-development between the two countries and make greater contributions to maintain peace and prosperity in the region and around the world.

According to the head of the Chinese state, the leaders of China and India shall support the strategic contacts and improve the design of the bilateral relations at the high level. Both sides should effectively use the various mechanisms of dialogue to enhance mutual understanding and trust, identify practical cooperation potential, expand cooperation in investment, tourism and trade sectors, as well as in production facilities, make joint efforts to ensure the Chinese-Indian cooperation in the development of railway infrastructure, creation of industrial parks and development of “smart” cities to bring the first results.

Xi Jinping also stressed the need to expand the Chinese-Indian cultural ties and contacts between the regions of the two countries, strengthen bilateral law enforcement cooperation and collaboration in the field of security. The two sides should handle the discrepancies through the proper manner, he said.

In his turn, Pranab Mukherjee said about India’s readiness to strengthen its relations with China, expand trade, investment cooperation and cultural exchanges, strengthen the coordination in the international affairs.
