China urged North Korea to stop nuclear tests to prevent disaster

Almaty. October 30. Silkroadnews - China urged North Korea to stop nuclear tests to prevent an environmental disaster, British Daily Star reported.
“CHINA has warned North Korea of the threat of a nuclear disaster if it tests another H-bomb near its border. The hermit kingdom has pushed the globe to the brink of World War III with a series of nuclear tests near the Chinese border. But China has told its communist neighbour it won’t tolerate another nuclear explosion there,” the statement said.
Chinese scientists fear that the North Korean test site will not take another blast. They have warned the DPRK officials that the next explosion could crush the upper part of the mountain, where tests are carried out with radioactive substances spreading throughout China.
It is explained that North Korea has carried out all five nuclear tests at the Punggye-ri test site, in Mount Mantap in the north-west of the country, which is only 50 miles from China. The last test of a thermonuclear bomb, 15 times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima during the World War II, caused a 6.1-magnitude earthquake last month. Two subsequent earthquakes - 2.6- and 3.2- magnitude - have raised fears that the DPRK tested more bombs. The experts believe these tremors have been caused by the collapse of tunnels under the mountain, where the test site is located.
The day after the test, on September 3, a senior Chinese nuclear scientist warned that another test could blow the top of the mountain.
After that, the Chinese government warned the DPRK of the danger of another test, scheduled for September 20.
Two days after the talks, North Korea announced plans for another hydrogen bomb test over the Pacific Ocean, and not at the Punggye-ri site. According to the publication, this suggests that North Korea listens to the opinion of its powerful ally.
Some reports coming from North Korea, the agency says, suggest the military is moving its nuclear test site.
