Almaty. November 10. Silkroadnews - China-US relations are “at a new historical starting point,” Xi Jinping said, China Daily writes.
“President Xi Jinping said Thursday the Sino-US relations are “at a new historic starting point,” the report said.
“China is willing to work together with the United States to respect each other, seek mutual benefit and reciprocity, focus on cooperation, and manage and control differences,” the agency quoted Xi saying during talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Reportedly the two states’ presidents have had in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and issues of common interest, and reached a broad consensus.
“We believe Sino-U.S. relations concern not only the well-being of both peoples, but also world peace, prosperity and stability,” Xi emphasized.
According to him, he and president Trump agreed that mutually beneficial cooperation is the “only correct choice” for China and the United States, as well as the only way to achieve a better future.
Both sides agreed to expand exchanges at various levels, fully use the four high-level dialogue mechanisms, i.e. dialogue on diplomacy and security, comprehensive economic dialogue, dialogue on law enforcement and cyber security, and social dialogue.
They also agreed to expand cooperation in such areas as trade, military affairs, law enforcement, etc., and strengthen communication and coordination on issues related to the Korean peninsula and Afghanistan.
