Almaty. November 3. Silkroadnews - China welcomes any contacts and talks between the DPRK and the US, “People’s Daily” reported.
“China welcomes and encourages contact and dialogue in any form between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying,” the report said.
Hua made the statement at a routine press briefing, answering the question about the recent direct dialogue between the two countries.
“We encourage the DPRK and the United States to carry out engagement and dialogue,” the agency quoted Hua saying, having added China hopes this could help to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the DPRK and the United States and help bring the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula back to diplomatic channels.
China, as always, is committed to a peaceful settlement of the Korean peninsula nuclear issue through the diplomatic efforts, Hua said.
