Silkroadnews - China will allocate Kyrgyzstan $297 million for the implementation of the second phase of the construction of the road North-South, which will create a transit corridor from Russia - Kazakhstan - Kyrgyzstan - Tajikistan bypassing Uzbekistan, reported the Tajik news agency (TajikTA) on Wednesday.
"From $297 million of the Chinese credit the Chinese government allocates concessional $112.6 million. In addition, the Export-Import Bank of China intends to grant to Kyrgyzstan for implementation of the second phase of the project of laying an alternative highway $185 million for 20 years with a rate of 2%, grace period -11 years", - said the publication with reference to the Minister of Transport and Communications Argynbek Malabaev.
Head of Transport and Communications Ministry said that the funds will be spent on the construction of 96 km road Aral - Kazarman, including a tunnel with a length of 0.7 km.
As it is known, the construction of this road will reduce the dependence of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on Uzbek highways.
