China will build a power plant in Mongolia with capacity of 700 MW

Almaty. April 3. Silkroadnews - China will build a 700 MW power plant in Mongolia, said the agency "Xinhua".
"Ulaanbaatar held ceremony of signing the concession agreement on energy projects between the management of the Investment Mongolia and Chinese construction companies", - says the publication.
Chinese contractor intends to build a 700 MW power plant at Baganuur coal deposit and will hold concession rights for 25 years according to the results of the international tender held in 2014. The size of the investment will be $8,9-9,9 million.
The power plant will supply electricity to the grid in Mongolia and provide energy to consumers in the eastern region. At this time, Mongolia imports about 20% of all electricity from Russia and China.
