China will establish a network to build the nuclear security forces

Almaty. April 4. Silkroadnews - On Friday Chinese President Xi Jinping within the framework of the Washington Nuclear Security Summit made a presentation on “Strengthening the global nuclear security architecture and to promote the global nuclear security governance,” the newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.

In his speech Xi Jinping noted that since the previous summit in Hague China has made new progress in nuclear security. Beijing has incorporated the nuclear security task into uniform system of national security and the Law of the PRC “On national security”, thus, giving the nuclear security issue the strategic status.

According to Xi Jinping, China will continue to strengthen its nuclear security and actively promote international cooperation, exchange of technology and expertise, invest resources and build an appropriate platform. China will build a network for the capacity building on nuclear security, extending the model of interaction to minimize the use of highly enriched uranium and implement a program of action to enhance the security of radioactive sources.

In addition, China will be engaged in the implementation of the initiative to provide technical support to counter nuclear terrorism and will distribute a national mechanism for the control and management of nuclear power plants.
“Given we work sincerely and honestly together to strengthen the nuclear security continuously, the prospects of using the nuclear energy benefits will become much lighter for all humanity,” said Xi Jinping.
