Astana. July 9. Silkroadnews - Southwest China Yunnan Province will export coffee to Europe via railway in Kazakhstan, reported the Chinese Xinhua news agency.
In early July, the capital of Yunnan Kunming launched container train which must deliver coffee beans and other products to Rotterdam in 15 days.
"Prior to that, coffee from Yunnan was delivered to Europe by sea, it usually took more than 30 days", - said in a statement.
The train crosses the border at the junction Alatau in Xinjiang before it goes through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany on its way to the Netherlands.
Two trips in both directions will be carried out every month, and it is predicted that this year to Europe will be delivered 24 tons of coffee. This amount will increase to 140 thousand and 300 thousand tons in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Yunnan produces 99% of China's coffee. In 2014, the province exported 67.2 thousand tons of coffee, states the report.
