Project to be realized by China’s TBEA on reconstruction and construction of more than 100-km high-voltage double-circuit power transmission line (PTL-500) across the regions of the republic will ensure reliability of Tajikistan’s unified power system, the republic’s ministry of energy said.
The feasibility study for the project was carried out by TBEA specialists, they will be also in charge for project implementation.
At present Chinese specialists are involved in another round of topographic survey.
The works also include construction of approach road and preliminary activities for construction.
The line will start in the village next to the town of Rogun, near the construction site of the Rogun hydroelectric power station.
To remind, the agreement on construction projects for 500 kV transmission line and the Dushanbe-2 power plant was made in Beijing in June 2012 during Tajikistan president’s visit to China.
At the beginning of September this year Beijing hosted a ceremony of signing a loan agreement between the government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Export-Import Bank of China on $79 million soft loan for the PTL-500 reconstruction project across the republic.
