Chinese authorities called on judges to impose harsher punishment for terrorism and separatism

Almaty. January 25. Silkroadnews - Chinese authorities have called on their judges to impose harsher sentences for terrorist and separatist activities, in addition to the anti-bribery struggle, Beijing mass media informed on Sunday.
As it turned out, the Chinese courts have been appealed by the participants of the national judiciary meeting hold on Saturday.
The courts, according to the resolution approved by the meeting, have to “punish severely the criminal acts threatening the political and economic security and social stability of the country”. While combating terrorism, the judges are called to be guided by the new anti-terrorism law recently adopted.
Besides, China’s judicial system will suppress serious crimes related to violence, such as murder and kidnapping, serious violations of the rights of women and children.
Rooting out the corruption remains one of the Chinese Courts’ major tasks. The efforts will be made to return the escaped officials from abroad along with the funds they have stolen. At the same time the courts are called to protect the legal rights of suspects and convicted persons, as well as address with a “caution” cases of seeking the capital punishment.
