Chinese city of Chengdu to introduce a 144-hour visa-free transit
Beijing. Jul 26. Silkroadnews - The city of Chengdu in the southwest of China is preparing to offer a 144-hour visa-free stay for transit passengers from a number of the countries, China Plus reports.
The municipal government has already submitted an appropriate request to the State Council of China for approval.
Municipal officials in Chengdu say they also plan to expand the list of countries whose citizens are allowed 72-hour visa-free transit. Currently, there are 51 countries whose citizens enjoy benefit in Chengdu, if they have a ticket to the country of destination and the visa of that country.
The aim of the plan is to develop Chengdu as an international tourist destination.
