Chinese company iFlytek to invest 2 billion yuan in cognitive science
Beijing. Jul 17. Silkroadnews - In collaboration with more than 20 national universities, iFlytek launched its “Brain Science and Education program” aimed at studying the development of cognitive abilities of children to develop new methods of individual learning, Global Times reported.
Over the next 10 years, iFlytek, a Chinese voice technology company, will invest more than 2 billion yuan ($299.03) in the project.
“I believe the program will be of great significance to the development of China’s cognitive science and education industry,” the agency cited Liu Qingfeng, iFlytek’s chairman.
“For example, iFlytek’s translation machine is expected to reach the level of Test for English Major Band eight (TEM 8) [the highest level for home English major students], in the first half of 2019,” Liu also said, noting, the machine can also work offline.
