Chinese company to build in Uzbekistan complex for the production of polyvinyl chloride

Almaty. August 20. Silkroadnews - China CAMC Engineering Company will buld in Uzbekistan a complex for the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), according to the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG).
"China CAMC Engineering Company is to build on the basis of "Navoiazot" production capacity of 100 thousand tons of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), 75 thousand tons of caustic soda and 300 thousand tons of methanol", - said in a statement on Wednesday.
As specified, China CAMC Engineering has signed a contract with the State Joint-Stock Company "Uzkimesanoat" ("Uzhimprom") for the construction of a chemical complex for the production of PVC value of $439.8 million. Project implementation period - 36 months. The contract was signed on the basis of direct negotiations.
In May it was announced that "Uzhimprom" could not sign contract with another Chinese company - CNCEC, which in September 2013 successed in a tender for construction of the PVC. The Uzbek side has decided to negotiate with other participants in the competition.
"Uzhimprom" made ​​an effort on this project for five years. Were attracted Russian "Caustic", Korean ISU Corp. and Mubadala Development of the United Arab Emirates.
Recall that "Navoiazot" - the largest chemical company in Uzbekistan, which was commissioned in 1964. The factory specializes in the production of nitrogen fertilizers, nitronic fiber, as well as integrated production of organic synthesis.
