Chinese company to create a food hub in Uzbekistan

Almaty. July 18. Silkroadnews – The Chinese company Xinjiang Silu Changlong Investment Co. Ltd plans to establish a food logistics center in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.

“The center is planned to include two plants to process fruits and vegetables and meat and dairy products, a company for production of cardboard and plastic boxes and crates, four refrigerators, modern energy-efficient greenhouses and gardens split by intensive technologies, as well as to purchase refrigerated trucks MAN,” the Chinese company’s representative noted.

The total project cost is expected to make $30 million. A part of these funds will be attracted as a loan from China’s Eximbank.

It is planned that all the fruits and vegetables produced shall be directed for export. The project’s realization shall allow creating hundreds of jobs for local residents.
