Chinese container trains transit to Europe and back through Kazakhstan grew 2.4 times in 2016 H1

Almaty. August 9. Silkroadnews – In January-June 2016 429 container trains passed through the territory of Kazakhstan on the route China-Europe-China, which is 2.4 times higher compared to the same period of last year, press-service of JSC ““NC” Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ) reported.

“In the first half of this year 429 container trains passed through Kazakhstan on the route China-Europe-China, which is 2.4 times more than in the same period of 2015”, the publication says as released on Tuesday.

It is also reported, on August 6-7 KTZ delegation paid a working visit to Shanghai. Within the framework of the visit company’s delegates held a number of meetings with the heads of the largest transport and logistics and industrial companies of China. In particular, they met with the Chairman of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited Xu Lirong.

The visit agenda also included discussion of participation in projects for the development of inland port in the territory of FEZ “Khorgos – Eastern Gate” and meeting with president of “CITIC Co., Ltd” company Wang Jun on realization of investment projects in the road sector.
