Chinese investment fund CIC to acquire Transneft preference shares set

Almaty. August 3. Silkroadnews – Meeting with senior officials of Russian “Transneft” representatives of China Investment Corporation (CIC) expressed their interest in acquiring a set of the company’s preferred shares, Russian agency of economic information “Prime” wrote.
According to Transneft president Nikolai Tokarev, the Chinese partners were primarily interested in purchasing a package of preferred shares of Transneft. At the moment the idea is also in the process of consideration and the company could acquire new partners represented by the Chinese investors.
The senior officials of Transneft and China Investment Corporation (CIC) held several working meetings in July, where discussed the prospects for cooperation. The details of the discussion were not disclosed.
