Chinese military got injured during training at the Kazakhstani training range

Almaty. August 2. Silkroadnews – Chinese military got injured during training exercises at the military training ground “Gvardeiskiy” in the south of Kazakhstan, the newspaper “Vremya” writes.

“The eligible participant from Angola, George Francisco Manuel, who got a severe shrapnel wound during training, died at 6:30 a.m. on July 31”, the publication says.

It is reported, 120-millimeter mortar shell burst took place in the Angolan team during training exercises at the military training ground “Gvardeiskiy” on July 27. Nine members of the Republic of Angola team and one military from China got shrapnel wounds.

“All the wounded were delivered to a medical detachment of Otar military base, and then evacuated to the Almaty military hospital for due medical assistance, except for George Francisco Manuel, who was non-transportable cause of severe traumatic brain injury”, the article says.

With this, the status of other injured militaries is considered as satisfactory.

Earlier the Kazakhstani media reported with reference to the Ministry of Defence’ press service, the preliminary investigation showed the Angolan team has committed a violation of security measures in the course of firing using 2B11 mortar and changed firing position without due coordination having left the trench, which is a willful violation. The burst could also be caused by mortar double loading.

On August 2 Kazakhstan is going to host the military international games with participation of 13 countries, eight states – Algeria, Austria, Germany, Israel, Cuba, Namibia, the Union of Myanmar, Saudi Arabia – are ready to delegate their observers to Kazakhstan.
