Chinese missile forces showed new armaments in PLA’s 90th anniversary parade

Almaty. July 31. Silkroadnews – The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) displayed new armaments in a grand parade to mark its 90th founding anniversary, Xinhua agency reported.
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) rocket forces showed five models of conventional warhead missiles and nuclear missiles in the solemn military parade that took place on Sunday at the Zhurihe training base in the north of China to mark the PLA’s 90th founding anniversary, publication says.
It is noted, Dongfeng-26 and Dongfeng-21D have been displayed in the parade.
“They include the Dongfeng-26 ballistic missile, which can be fired at short notice and fitted with a nuclear warhead, the Dongfeng-21D land-based anti-ship ballistic missiles described by some as the "carrier killer," and the Dongfeng-16G conventional missile designed for precision strikes against key enemy targets”, publication notes.
Two models of solid-fuel inter-continental strategic nuclear missiles were also reported displayed in the parade.
According to the publication, the PLA’s rocket forces were formed in December 2015 as a part of a structural army reform to replace the Second Artillery Force founded on July 1, 1966.
