Cinema of Iran won more than 500 awards in 2016
Almaty. May 17. Silkroadnews – After the Islamic Revolution of 1979 Iranian filmmakers won 3685 awards at the international festivals, film critic Mohammad Atebbai said, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
The publication notes, according to statistics for the recent time Iran has been experiencing a recovery in cinematography. The country becomes known for a growing number of the works of a talent given a highly appraisal in many countries.
In 2015 Iranian films won 382 awards, and in 2016 516 awards.
Over the past year Iran has received more film awards than in 1958-1998 period.
There are several organizations, including the Farabi Cinema Foundation, the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, the Documentary and Experimental Film Center, as well as eight private companies and some international distributors, that bring the Iranian movies to the festivals.
