Civil airport to be built on China’s border with Russia

Almaty. October 17. Silkroadnews – Сivil airport is planned to be built in the city of Suifenhe, located on China’s border with Russia, “Xinhua” agency reports.  

The preliminary to the actual constructions works are carried out at present.

Airport of 1.85 square km area is planned to be equipped with instrument landing system, have six aprons for category C aircraft, and serve Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 passenger aircraft.

The volume of investments in the construction of the airport will amount to 1.232 billion yuan, i.e. $183 million.

Suifenhe is the biggest checkpoint on the Chinese-Russian border, around 1 million people cross it every year. The amount of the commercial transactions made through this checkpoint exceed 10 billion yuan.
