Closed-door regime of government sessions raises questions in Kazakhstan society
Almaty. April 25. Silkroadnews- The news that government sessions are to be held in closed-door regime from now on led to ambiguous reaction of Kazakh society.
“Ever since Kazakh Deputy PM Gulshara Abdykalikova informed that government sessions are to be closed for journalists from now on, many questions have been raised. Just how much our government officials understand (or don’t understand for that matter) who they working for so hard? Is it for the country’s development and for the improvement of its nation’s quality of life? If so, why do they need to hide from Mass Media? Mass Media is supposed to inform the nation about government’s plans, about its work and efficiency, about its results. Why to hide, if Mass Media is supposed to show Ministers’ concern over the country and its nation?”, Aidar Alibaev, the chairman of “FinPotrebSoyuz” community organisation told KazTAG.
“I think that denying Mass Media’s access can be explained by mere disorientation, professional incapacity, crisis of effective proposals and skilled state management. It feels to me that our top-managers in government cannot come up with serious ideas to develop the country, let alone implement them. That’s exactly why they are hiding scared of Mass Media. Does the country need such Ministers after all?”, Mister Alibaev concluded.
