Construction of new agricultural technology center in the south-west of Tajikistan needs to be accelerated, according to the Ministry of Agriculture

Dushanbe. July 8. Silkroadnews - According to the head of Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan Kosim Rohbar, it is necessary to accelerate the construction of new agricultural technology center in south-west of Tajikistan, Yava district, transmits the Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
This was noted by the Minister at the meeting with the Chinese delegation from Henan Province, in Dushanbe.
"The Ministry of Agriculture appreciates the development of fruitful cooperation with the Department of Agriculture of Henan Province, which provides substantial support in solving urgent problems of the agricultural sector to ensure food security and improve living standards of RT" - said K.Rohbar.
Also, the Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan noted good prospects for cooperation in such areas as fish farming, beekeeping and yak breeding, as well as continued cooperation in the field of seed production.
Trade turnover between Tajikistan and China in 2013 totaled to more than $682 million, including export - $86.3 million, imports - $595.8 million
Basically, Tajikistan imports rice, tea, milk, fruit, and exports cotton, wool, fruit, dried fruit and licorice root.
