Construction of TAPI gas pipeline to start in December this year

Almaty. October 30. Silkroadnews - In December 2015, is scheduled to begin construction of the biggest gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), reports Trend.
According to the publication, the state concern "Turkmengaz", acting as the leader of the consortium and the main investor in the project, through its own efforts is going to start construction of its section of the pipeline.
Afghan Gas Corporation, the Pakistani Inter State Gas Systems (Private) Limited and Indian GAIL, members of the consortium will finance the project in accordance with their approved equity participation.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will participate in this project from its own investments, financing and organization of financial services.
Turkmen gas will help to meet the growing energy consumption in India and Pakistan, which in 2030 could rise twice. The remaining part will reduce the constant shortage of energy in Afghanistan.
