Almaty. May 30. Silkroadnews – Despite the low level of food prices, consumer inflation in China will continue to grow this May, research by the Bank of Communications “Jiaotong” shows, Xinhua News Agency wrote.
According to forecasts, the consumer price index (CPI), inflation key indicator, will grow by 1.4%-1.6% at an annual rate this month.
The growth of the indicator will be higher compared to the previous two months. In April CPI grew by 1.2% and in March – by 0.9%.
Banking analysts attribute such CPI growth to strong carryover effect and forecast a noticeable slowdown in food prices growth.
In the second half of the year a weak demand and limited currency liquidity will continue to affect consumer prices, but increase in labor costs and changes in the economic structure will raise prices for services compensating the lowering pressure.
