Container train via the transit route through Kazakhstan has been launched from China to Iran

Almaty. February 1. Silkroadnews – The container train has been launched in the city of Yiwu in eastern China to Iran via the transit route through the territory of Kazakhstan, the press service of “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” NC (KTZ) informs.
“The new container route has been opened jointly by the railway administrations of China, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran, and is the first logistics solutions to speed the delivery of goods from the coast of east China to the markets of the Persian Gulf,” - a statement by KZT informed on Monday.
The train route, as specified, passes through the Chinese railways mains, border crossing pass Alashankou-Dostyk, new line of Kazakhstan (Zhezkazgan-Beineu and Uzen-Bolashak St.) and goes further through the railway network of Turkmenistan and Iran in Tehran.
The train consists of 40-foot containers with different weights. The total length of the route is more than 9 thousand km and lead time makes about 10 days.
The development of the container transport on this transport route contributes to its attraction capacity, growth of the country’s transit potential and competitiveness, the report says.
