Contractors from China and Qatar to build 11 thousand residential buildings in Afghanistan

Almaty. July 1. Silkroadnews – Ministry of Urban Development Affairs announced the construction of 11,000 residential buildings will likely to start this year, Afghan news agency (AfTAG) reports.

Minister Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi said that 10 thousand residential units will be built in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan by China in coming three months after the conclusion of the Memorandum of Understanding.
He also added the agreement with Qatar for the construction of one thousand residential units have already been signed and the construction work is expected to start in the near future.

Minister added that his ministry will focus on creating of jobs, economic momentum and bringing positive changes in the perspective of the cities, business portal wadsam.com informs.  

He promised to make changes to the urban master plan to ensure it meets people’s needs and demands.

Naderi also added that the Ministry of Urban Development Affairs has managed to spend 49% of its annual budget for the solar 1394 (from March 21, 2015, to March 21, 2016), which is significantly higher than the previous year, when only 17% of the budget was spent.

According to him, key problems of the Ministry of Urban Development Affairs include insecurity, corruption and flight of capital from the country.
