Cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in tourism sector is «weak», the profile department reports

Almaty. September 28. Silkroadnews – The current state of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of tourism is characterized as a «weak», the profile department officials say, KazTAG writes.

«Kazakhstan still remains unknown to the most of the Chinese. There has been a steady but slow increase in the number of tourists observed. As for visitors from China to Kazakhstan, there is a steady growth in the number of tourists. Every year the number of tourists is growing around 13.6%», the special representative of the tourism affairs under the Chinese government, the President of China Tourism Academy, Dai Bin said at the Kazakhstani-Chinese Tourism Forum in Astana on Wednesday.

With this he also said the cooperation in the field of tourism does not meet the expectations of the countries' authorities.

«Given the rapidly growing market for international travel in China and strengthening of the Kazakhstani-Chinese relations, the current state of cooperation between the two countries in the tourism sector is far from meeting the expectations of the governments, administrative departments of tourism and travel agencies of our countries», D. Bin added.

The Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Hanhuey also called the countries cooperation in the field of tourism as the «weak» one.

«Regarding the current state of affairs, still the relationship between China and Kazakhstan has not yet reached the desired stage. It is time to develop cooperation in the tourism sector, yet, compared to the high level of political relations between our two countries, the cooperation in this sector remains relatively weak», the ambassador said.
