Creating of the EAEC Monetary Union is a guide that must not lose focus - Medvedev

Almaty. May 29. Silkroadnews - Creating Monetary Union of member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC) is a guide that must not lose focus. This was stated by Prime Minister Dmitriy Medvedev, reported KazTAG.
"Measures to support the real sector, banking sector, which are taken at the national level will also affect the integration process. We believe that such support measures should not be taken in isolation but in a coordinated manner. It is important that this work was organized on a regular basis, so that the financial authorities, economic authorities of our countries, central banks of our countries promptly conducted the necessary consultations. And when required could take coordinated decisions", - said Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union on Friday.
"In this format, could be considered the possibility and conditions of formation of a monetary union in the long term. We are willing to work out the issue with other colleagues. Anyway, this is the benchmark that we eventually must not lose focus",- he added, noting that this does not mean that it is the primary goal.
Recall that in the beginning of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian Central Bank, together with the Government of the Russian Federation to submit by September 1, 2015, further directions of integration in the monetary and financial fields within the EAEC, with study of the advisability and feasibility of establishing of a monetary union in the long term.
