Crop production to rise by 40% in Kazakhstan by 2021

Almaty. April 22. Silkroadnews – Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN estimates Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine to rise their crop production by 40%, 20% and 28% respectively” “KazAgro” analytical overview states.
Coarse grain production in Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine will rise by 22%, 14% and 25% respectively. Global coarse grain production growth will exceed the growth rate of food grains production. It will reach 20% on average, as the message states.
Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture estimates grain export to reach 9 mln. tonnes in 2013-2014 marketing year.
Kazakhstan exported 5.7 mln tonnes of crops and flour between 1st of July 2013 and 20th of February 2014. This signifies 25% increase compared to subsequent period the year before.
Kazakhstan mostly uses railway transport to export grain. Caspian Port of Aktau has a maximum capacity of just 500-600 tonnes of grain a year. Kazakhstan continues to export its grain to its traditional grain export partners. That is, its Central Asian and Caspian neighbours.
