CSTO intends to work with EEC to counteract illegal migration
Almaty. February 4. Silkroadnews - Collective Security Treaty Organization intends to establish cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission in matters of illegal migration, reported the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA).
According to CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov, this topic will be discussed at a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the heads of the competent authorities of CSTO member states in combating illegal migration, which will be held on February 5 in Yerevan.
"The meeting participants will discuss issues of organization and conduct of the CSTO joint preventive operations and special operations to combat illegal migration, code-named "Illegal-2015", the activity of the Eurasian Economic Commission in the field of labor migration and possible areas of cooperation with the CSTO Secretariat, as well as common approaches in combating illegal migration in the light of the launch of the Eurasian Economic Union",- he said.
It also will focus on new developments in the regulation of attraction and use of foreign labor in Russia, will be heard by the establishment of the CSTO regional system for dealing with asylum seekers and refugees. In addition, the Board will consider joint action in the event of a mass influx of refugees from Afghanistan.
The meeting will be attended by CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha, head of the competent authorities of CSTO member states in combating illegal migration Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the CIS Executive Committee and the Bureau of International Organization for Migration in Moscow.
