Almaty. November 18. Silkroadnews – The CSTO states face a risk of illegal migration from zones of military conflicts and instability, Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Competent Bodies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states Alexander Gorovoy said.

“Obviously, we have such a threat. For the specific threats coming from the regions of military operations we have to undertake measures, including, in particular, the legislative changes in requirements of fingerprinting and photographing people coming into the territory of our states”, Russian media quoted A. Gorovoy saying.

He also noted that based on the experience of legislative allocation of liability within the framework of the CSTO there was also a system of criminal cases and arrests upon return developed.

“At present we are working on more than 60 thousand passports stolen by the members of the military groups of Iraq and the Syrian Republic. Indeed, their use by terrorists and militants can be projected”, A. Gorovoy said.

With reference to the complex situation, according to him, it is necessary to discuss the possibility of harmonization of legislation to combat the illegal migration and consider the prospect of creating a unified database on the third countries citizens’ migration.
