Customs control on the border of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will be abolished since May 8,

Almaty. December 29. Silkroadnews - customs control on the border of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will be abolished since May 8, 2015 in connection with the entry of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC), reports KyrTAG referring to the press service of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
"On December 26, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Djoomart Otorbaev held a meeting with the heads of ministries and departments to prepare an action plan for the implementation of the procedures of the Treaty of Accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Eurasian Economic Union", - informs the agency.
During the meeting it was noted that the Treaty of Accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the EAEC shall enter into force on 1 May 2015 and provide the basic obligations of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the document, Kyrgyzstan should conduct internal procedures for approval of the agreement before March 2015.
In addition, "Since May 8 next year will be cancelled customs control on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border".  At this point, Kyrgyzstan should equip checkpoints at airports "Manas", in Osh on Torugart and Irkeshtam, as well as to perform certain activities in the field of health, phytosanitary and veterinary control, as well as the necessary quarantine measures.
Also, the meeting discussed the measures to ensure the exchange of information of state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic with the states - members of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space and the Eurasian Economic Union in respect of goods under customs control.
Following the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed all ministries and departments of the Kyrgyz Republic to finalize urgently clarify schedules and implementation of priority actions for the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the EAEC.
