Customs in Hangzhou prevented import of 469 tons of solid waste from U.S.

Beijing. April 13. Silkroadnews - The customs office in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, east China, has prevented the import of 469 tons of solid waste from the U.S., Xinhua reports.
Customs officers discovered a cargo from the United States, consisting of scrap metal and glass containers.
In China, the import of goods containing the solid waste is banned. According to the order of the customs, the importing companies are obliged to return the goods to the suppliers as soon as possible.
China has banned the import of 24 types of solid waste since the end of 2017 to reduce the level of environmental pollution.
