Customs overseas transit of goods through Iranian Gilan grew 22%

Beijing. March 6. Silkroadnews - During 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (ending on March 20, 2018), foreign transit through Gilan Customs grew 22%, customs official of Gilan Abolghasem Yusefi Nejad said on Monday, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
During this period, 224,427 tons of products were transported through Gilan customs from Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Ukraine to Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and free zones, Yusefi Nejad said, Iran Daily wrote.
According to him, the cost of transit goods reached $220,394,561, major transit items included fuel, steel, wood, industrial equipment, clothing and chemical products.
He also noted, 454,138 tons of products worth $298,332 were exported from Gilan Customs.
Among the products exported to Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Iraq there were mainly agricultural crops, vegetables, fruits, dates, raisins, tea, mineral products, glass, food products, textiles and plastics.
