Customs services of Kazakhstan and Russia deny barriers to transit of goods from Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. June 29. Silkroadnews – Customs services of Kazakhstan and Russia deny existence of barriers to transit of goods from Kyrgyzstan, said Gosman Amrein, deputy chairman of the state revenue committee of Kazakhstan’s ministry of finance, KyrTAG writes.

“It is rumored there are some barriers. There are problems, as certain agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan are under restrictions now due to the new control system. Additionally, I would like to say the customs system of Kyrgyzstan face serious challenges since the country became a member to the EEU, thus, became responsible not only for their borders, but also for the EEU common border. We need to establish infrastructure and create synergies. EEU has no complaints to the Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan,” G. Amrein said.

According to him, there is no customs border between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Chairman of the Federal Customs Service of Russia Andrei Belianinov also noted the Russian side does not participate in creation of artificial barriers to Kyrgyzstan’s goods movement.

“I do not know any cases when the Russian customs authorities have prevented the entry of goods from Kyrgyzstan or transit of goods from Kyrgyzstan,” the head of the Federal Customs Service said.
