Czech troops will remain in Afghanistan until the end of 2016
AlmaOctober 21. Silkroadnews - Czech military contingent will remain in Afghanistan until the end of 2016. This decision was announced by the government of the republic on October 20, informs Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
Under NATO command in Afghanistan will be unit consisting of 310 Czech soldiers and officers, 20 more soldiers will continue to guard the Czech Embassy. In addition to this group 20 military will work with Afghan allies to fight the spread and production of drugs.
The government also approved a decision to allocate 1,500 soldiers and officers for their acceptance of the NATO Response Force.
However, as part of a UN peacekeeping force for service in the Golan Heights Czech military will not be involved.
