Almaty. January 5. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan removed daily limit on electricity supply, TajikTA reports.

“Daily limit on the supply of electricity in Tajikistan has been removed since January 5, 2017”, officials of the country’s ministry of energy industry reported.

Starting from January 5, 2017, the uninterruptible electricity supply will be carried out from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Number of factors behind this decision includes the Dushanbe CHP-2 operation and positive readings of the Vakhsh River flowage as compared with the last year.

Due to favorable weather conditions water supply to the Vakhsh river raises gradually, thus, contributing to raise of water level in the Nurek reservoir.

To remind, the official limit on electricity consumption in the country was introduced on November 1. The officials of the state energy holding “Barki Tojik” said the temperature fall resulted in a decrease in flowage of the Vakhsh River hosting the major hydropower stations of the republic, thus, did not allow producing the right amount of electricity to fully meet the domestic needs.

Earlier the energy agencies officials assured to ensure the energy supply not to be worse compared to the last year’s winter situation, meaning the electricity supply was to be provided 10-12 hours a day.
