Delegates of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will feature more workers and women

Almaty. October. Silkroadnews – The number of workers and women among the delegates of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has increased, China News reports.
“Compared with the delegates to the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), more CPC members from frontline production and women have been elected as delegates to the 19th congress,” the report said.
It is noted that 771 delegates (33.7% of the total delegates number) for taking part in the congress have been elected among the frontline production and manufacturing workers, which is a 3.2% increase compared to the 18th congress five years ago. Among them, 198 are workers or migrant workers, 86 are farmers, and 283 are technical personnel.
Reportedly, the representation of women members of the CPC and representatives of ethnic minorities is also growing, reaching 24.1% and 11.5% of the total, respectively, with 43 of the 55 national minorities taking part in the congress.
In total, 2228 delegates will take part in the congress to start in Beijing on October 18.
As the publication says, delegates who were elected throughout the country, during congresses of the local committees of the Communist Party, will have to undergo additional check to get final approval for participation in the congress. The delegates have been elected in accordance with the Party’s Constitution and the requirements of the CPC Central Committee.
The average age of delegates is 51.8 years, which is about 0.2 years younger compared to the 18th Congress, and about 70.6% of delegates are under the age of 55.
2009 delegates (87.8% of the total), joined the CPC after December 1978, and 416 of them - after January 2000, which indicates that the spirit of the Party is passed on to younger generations.
