Almaty. August 3. Silkroadnews – The agreement on the Iranian nuclear program had a positive impact on Iran’s economy, IrTAG quoted President of Iran Hassan Rouhani saying.

“Prior to conclusion of the agreement Iran suffered from sanctions and situation was getting worse every day. We had problems selling oil at the global market; car industry, petrochemical industry and other sectors experienced serious difficulties as well. Now the situation has improved considerably. Indeed, there are some claims to the other side, yet, as a whole, with beginning of implementation of the joint comprehensive plan of action the country’s economy experiences a positive impact”, H. Rouhani said.

As an example he referred to Iran’s oil production statistics. Last year prior to the implementation of JCPOA the country produced 3.25 million barrels a day, this July the daily output makes 4.154 mln barrels.

“That is, we have increased our daily oil production by nearly a million barrels”, the president added.

Crude oil exports, he also noted, raised from 1.3 to 2.428 million barrels a day compared to last year.

“Thus, despite some difficulties in the JCPOA implementation, the economic situation in our country has changed for the better. We observe increased power consumption and manufacturing activity in many industries, including, first of all, the oil sector”, said H. Rouhani.

He also expressed hope that on the basis of 2016 Iran will be able to reach the planned 5% economic growth.
President also noted, that so far the U.S. do not fully perform their obligations under the agreement reached on the Iranian atom.
