Discussed the conditions for the creation of a transit corridor Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman
Almaty. February 18. Silkroadnews - Uzbek delegation took part in the first meeting of the Coordinating Council in Tehran, as part of the agreement on the establishment of international transport and transit corridor "Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman", reports Trend.
"Considered regulations of the Coordination Council and working bodies of the agreements, issues enabling environment to enhance the attractiveness of the route and increase the volume of transit cargo", - says the publication.
Following the meeting, was signed a memorandum on the adoption of a set of priority measures to give effect to the agreement, including the creation and launch of the working bodies, development of concrete proposals to create favorable conditions for the transit of foreign goods and efficient loading of the transport corridor.
As noted, during the visit, the Uzbek delegation held meetings with the Minister of Industry, Mines, and the country's trade Reza Nematzade and Minister of Roads and Urban Construction Abbas Akhund. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic sphere, transport and transit, as well as issues related to the organization of the next meeting of the Uzbek-Iranian intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan Ehler Ganiev, Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development of Iran, Dawood Keshavarzian, First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Sultanate of Oman Sayyid bin Hamdoon, Railways Minister of Turkmenistan Bayram Annameredov, as well as head of the company "Kazakhstan Temir Joly" Askar Mamin and the representative of the International Association of road (IRU) Dalida Matic.
