Almaty. November 2. Silkroadnews – Revenues from drugs production and sale is one of the sources of funding for terrorist movements in Central Asia, KazTAG reports.

«Revenues from drugs production and sale are also one of the sources of financing of terrorist movements in the Central Asian region. With this the radical groups ideologists urge using drugs as a tool to mitigate the civilized community, which is consonant with the terrorists' inhuman practice killing using all the tools possible», the CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov said on Wednesday at the 18th meeting of the coordinating council of the CSTO member states' heads of authorities combating illegal trafficking.

He noted, the financial potential of the ISIS terrorist organization makes around $1 billion.

«It is being completed at the expense of the drug trafficking control and percent of the drug money turnover», V. Semerikov said.

According to the CSTO data, drug production in Afghanistan is carried out on an industrial basis. This year the country's drug crops have risen by 50%.
