Dushanbe and Tashkent may resume air services in 2017

Almaty. November 7. Silkroadnews – Dushanbe and Tashkent may resume flight connection in 2017, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported.

“Tashkent does not exclude the possibility to resume flight connection with Dushanbe in the first half of 2017 or earlier”, the statement said on Monday.

The head of the Uzbeki national airline “Uzbekistan Airways” Valeriy Tyan said Uzbekistan is ready for resumption of air communication with Tajikistan in the first half of 2017.

According to him, Tashkent has all the prerequisites to resume flight connection with Dushanbe and the Tajik direction is planned to be scheduled in summer flight season beginning in March.

Earlier the Tajik side also expressed its readiness to resume flights between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, stating the due agreement is under development process.

Air traffic between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was terminated in 1992 with the beginning of the civil war in Tajikistan.
