Earthquake in Nepal can cause tremors of up to 7 points in Kyrgyzstan, say scientists
Almaty. April 29. Silkroadnews - Earthquake in Nepal can cause tremors in Kyrgyzstan to 6-7 on the Richter scale, reported KyrTAG.
"The territory of Kyrgyzstan is on the same position as Nepal. Both countries are on the edge of the Indian lithospheric plate. Therefore, those tremors that were in Nepal, could provoke an earthquake in Kyrgyzstan to 6-7 on the Richter scale",- said the director of the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov on Wednesday.
Recall, earthquake of magnitude 7.9 points occurred in Nepal on 25 April. The epicenter was located 82 km north-west from the capital Kathmandu. On Sunday, an earthquake continued, there were about 50 new shocks. The number of victims has exceeded 5 thousand people.
