Amaty. April 21. Silkroadnews – Zharykap Kalybay who edits “Celebrity House –Legendary Personality” magazine (the April issue of which was dedicated to Adolf Hitler’s personality) stated that he will appeal even to Hague Court, if necessary to prove he is not guilty of social hatred incitement.
“I didn’t break the law, but I can be sentenced for up to 12 years. I would appeal to the Court in Hague, if I had to. I will prove that I am not guilty of anything”, Mister Kalybay stated at the Press-Conference.
He also stated that his intentions were misinterpreted.
Mister Kalybay thinks that Russian Mass Media ignited all the fire around the publication, as they were appalled by the comparison of Vladimir Putin and Adolf Hitler.
As reported earlier, the April edition’s content has signs of constitutional violations. It also violates Kazakh legislation on incitement of social, national, tribal racial and religious hatred.
April edition of the publication that is published in Kazakh is dedicated to Adolf Hitler’s personality and Fascist ideology. In the article entitled “Hitler is no Fascist”, its author Natashibay Esmyra not only defends the leader of National-Socialists, but also adds highly xenophobic comments of his own. Another article entitled “Mein Kampf – What is This Book About?” poses a variety of questions regarding book’s content.
Magazine’s editor-in-chief is Zharylkap Kalybay. He made the news last year as he was the middle of infamous plane incident. The incident happened when a female member of plane crew replied in Russian to the question that he was asking her in Kazakh. Later, in October 2013, he was charged with “hooliganism” in relation to the incident.
