"With the implementation of the "New Silk Road", China, in addition to the construction of transport corridors, pursues a number of objectives, aimed at the nearby Kazakhstan and the countries of Southeast Asia", - said K.Syroezhkin, speaking in the debate "New Silk Road - the idea and the reality".
According to K. Syroezhkin, the total cost of infrastructure projects - about $ 900 billion, but the initiator does not have these money.
Kazakhstan's interest in the construction of transport corridors, according to K. Syroezhkina, is investing in infrastructure (roads) and income for the transit of goods.
The head of Kazakhstan Logistics Association Gennady Shestakov, in turn, added that revenues from the transit of Kazakh goods may be 18% of GDP.
According to media reports, China plans to create a fund of the "New Silk Road", which will finance the construction of infrastructure linking markets of three continents. The funds will be directed to the construction and development of roads, railways and pipelines in the Chinese provinces. It is also intended to encourage Chinese investors to invest in infrastructure development in those countries, which will trade routes connecting China with Europe.
